Zero to Five Butte-Silver Bow Collaborative is focused on bringing a diverse and inclusive set of community members together to find system-focused solutions for children and families in Butte-Silver Bow county. The Collaborative focuses on improving systems for parenting young children; enhancing, supporting and connecting resources already in place.

GOAL: reduce the number of children in foster care in Butte-Silver Bow county by 75% by the year 2025.

Bright by Text is a free texting service that allows parents with children prenatal to 8 to get text messages about free and low cost local events and resources as well as information about development and support based on their child’s age.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a FREE book gifting program that mails high-quality books to children 0-5 years, no matter their family’s income.

In partnership with New Hope Clinic we have established a store front to streamline the display and distribution of clothing and other necessities for children ages 0-5 years. Foster families and reunited biological parents can access these items year-round at no cost.

SUPERMARKET SPEAKS WITH ELLO

Supermarket Speak aims to spark conversations and parent-child interactions in the aisles of grocery stores by integrating playful signage and activities. This project was piloted at the 2021 Butte Farmers Market with the hope it will be introduced into local grocery stores in the future.

The Snow Buddies Program pairs those who are unable to shovel with nearby neighbors who volunteer to assist them with snow removal on their sidewalks and walkways.

FOSTER BACKPACK PROGRAM

Zero to Five BSB has supplied our local Child and Family Services office with backpacks full of items to give to children that are removed from their homes. The backpacks include personal hygiene produces, comfort items, activites, snacks, and other age appropriate necessities.

The FLOC (Families Leading Our Community) is a parent group that is a key part of the Zero to Five Butte-Silver Bow Collaborative. The FLOC works to make sure that the changes being worked on in our community are for parents, by parents.

LEARNING LANDSCAPES

Learning Landscapes aims to transform everyday places into learning opportunities for children with an emphasis on positive parent/caregiver interactions. 

​

Currently we are focused on plans to implement a Learning Landscape at Rock Park on the corner of Granite and Clark Street. The design is shown below.
